File Extension Db

The file extension .db is an acronym for "database". Once files are collected in databases they receive this .db file extension designation. They can include a variety of information based on the subject matter of the database: names, dates, addresses and identification numbers.

These basic data files are linked by this .db file extension. Formatting is important for maintaining proper database organization. Databases are useful storage areas for information. Data can be combined into useful formats: charts, tables or worksheets. Data can be searched based on common characteristics and properties.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

I figured the graphics card my grandson gave me was broken when I couldn't get it work on my computer. It turns out that I just didn't have the right driver. ParetoLogic FileCure got it workin.

Hello FileCure folks:

I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

Reggie E., N. Dakota

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

Nick Shultz, Canberra, Australia

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

Databases allow for useful structures that can be modified, sorted, updated and deleted for inclusion in special forms and reports. Records from numerous sources can be combined or merged from mailing or contact lists. The common .db file extension makes this easier to accomplish. Queries and macros can be run to change data en masse.

Sales and marketing uses databases frequently for contacting customers. Collecting a central company database can establish a uniform library resource for an extended enterprise. Human resources, marketing and accounting departments all use the central database for different purposes. The best databases can be updated while others are viewing records. Individual settings combined with uniform standards give the information a greater flexibility, aiding all employees in a business.

More Info Regarding File Extension Db

A database must be open before it can access and update internal data. Databases usually have different security or administrative locks from preventing destruction or corruption of data. Databases can transfer records across the Internet to mobile devices for easy recollection.

A text editor could be used to peruse the .db file extension's contents. It is important to leave formatting the same for .db file extensions to maintain database integrity.

Numerous software programs manage the .db file extension including ANSYS, Apple Safari, Corel Borland, DIGIBooster, Microsoft, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Novell, Oracle, Palm Zire, Progress, Psion, Solid and SQL Anywhere.

Corel Borland has developed many different databases including Paradox Smartware and dBASE. These have been acquired through company merges and changes in focus due to market developments. Each of these use the file extension .db. Paradox Smartware is a relational database management system that uses text field tagging for marking records. The dBASE IV software is used to create and develop database and Web applications.

Microsoft Office Access and Synopsis Design Compiler open .db file extensions for Windows. Microsoft Office Access is a desktop database management system, which uses a better query interface than Corel Borland's products. Microsoft Works also uses these .db file extensions. The .mdb file is the master database file holding the essential referential items to manage the Access database.

For awhile, databases competed as individual products. When Microsoft Windows bundled its Access into its Office Suite, it undercut all of the competition. Now, Microsoft calls its product Microsoft Office Access. It has brought database usage to a wider audience.

Microsoft Window generates a common .db file extension for storing thumbnail views. The default setting automatically generates the "thumb.db" for faster execution of these files. This file is hidden from view. Over time, these thumbnails might accumulate; if you want to change this setting to prevent automatic thumbnails from being created, then enter the Control Panel, select Folder Options, then choose View and check the box for "Do not cache thumbnails".

This "thumb.db" uses many of the most common image file formats including .avi, .bmp, .gif, .jpg and .tif to name a few. The Greenspot Technologies Detection Master Thumbs software will open these thumbnail views.

If you are uncertain if a .db file extension belongs to a specific database, you could try importing it into the database. This might help you determine if it belongs to that database. Compare the records for basic properties.

Typical .db file extension errors will be a result of formatting problems and uncertainty to the origin of the source database.
